Communicating With a Senior Loved One From a Distance

Communicating With a Senior Loved One From a Distance

As our care home in El Cerrito, California continues to implement restrictions to keep our residents safe from COVID-19, we recognize the family members still want to see their senior loved ones.

During this unprecedented time, we want to help our residents and their families stay connected. In this article, we’re sharing four ways you can keep in touch with your senior loved ones living in Arlington Care Home.

  • Video chats
Although nothing can replace in-person visits, video chatting is the next best option. You can get in touch with our staff so we can help you set up a video chat with your loved ones.
  • Cards and letters
Write letters of support and updates on family members. We’ll provide our residents with pens and papers so they can write a reply.
  • Care packages
Send care packages that could include snacks, photographs, and their favorite board game. Our residential facility in California has built a system for safe care package drop-offs.

As we continue to provide personal care services for your senior loved ones during this challenging time, we also hope that you keep safe and healthy in your own home. We look forward to the day you can personally visit your loved ones.
